Yoga is a mind and body practice. Various styles of yoga combine physical postures, breathing techniques, and meditation or relaxation. Yoga is an ancient practice that may have originated in India. It involves movement, meditation, and breathing techniques to promote mental and physical well-being.
This is private instruction, tailored specifically for your needs. I combine traditional hatha style yoga with various other modalities such as strength, core, and balance training. This is all designed to create balance in the body and keep you safe. Great for beginners!
Yin Yoga is a slow-paced style of yoga as exercise, incorporating principles of traditional Chinese medicine, with asanas that are held for longer periods of time than in other styles. Advanced practitioners may stay in one asana for five minutes or more. This is a 75-minute session. All props are provided!
Assisted stretching involves a trained practitioner stretching your body for you. Shortened muscles can become fragile and weak — adding unnecessary pressure on tendons and pulling bones out of their natural alignment. Getting stretched can literally help you get back on your feet.
Assisted Stretching is just what it sounds like – and allows you to experience a deeper stretch through additional, gentle pressure applied by your practitioner.
A targeted stretching session concentrating on the muscles of most concern.
Mobility: The ability to move freely and easily. Stability: The ability of the body to maintain postural equilibrium and support joints during movement.
First, a brief but detailed assessment will be administered to determine overactive and underactive muscles. Based on those findings, a personalized training program will be designed for you to improve your flexibility and increase your range of motion for overactive muscles. Stability training will return strength and control to muscles and joints found to be underactive.
A condensed training session that will still target the necessary muscles for those days when time is an issue.
